~Sabrina~
She came home with us on Thursday, October the 18th. We adopted her from the East Side Animal Shelter. She’s a year old, completely black (Zane says, “You can’t be a witch without a black cat…lol), and came with her name. We all absolutely love her. She has already gotten used to Elise torturing her (pulling her tail, chasing her all over the house, hugging her to death) – thank goodness because she isn’t de-clawed, I don’t think we will de-claw her either, it just doesn’t seem right. She’s also very snuggly – she has to be on one of us all the time – and if she’s not on us, then she has to be very near us, as you can see from the pictures – the one above and the first one below she’s on Zane’s desk, in the last two, she’s on my desk. Don’t you just love that yawn! *meow*
Remember that research paper I keep talking about – the 20 page one – well, actually, it ended up being a 15 page one. Well – I got an excellent grade. According to the teacher, you either have to be a God or a graduate student to get an A on that paper – since this is the first attempt at the paper, and we’re allowed 3 (allowed to re-write in other words). Well – I got a B!
YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY.
I’ve never been more happy to see a B in my life. I’m pretty picky about my grades. I’m always disappointed when I get less than an A, because I always know I can do better – and should have, only I was being lazy. But this time – this time its okay. Besides, I can still make it an A – just have to make some adjustments. The only thing I really got knocked off for was the format of the paper. It wasn’t exactly in APA format (American Psychological Association) – So, just have to add some things here, indent some things there – add a couple of more comments, and voila – easy A!
Finally, this semester is looking up. I wasn’t doing so well in most of my classes, sure I’d make a B in all of them – which is a must – Graduate school for psychology won’t accept anything less than a B for psych classes. So I’ve been sweating for a couple of weeks now – but its all okay. I’m not burnt out after all!
Okay – so that’s enough about school. I had a fun day with Aiden and his school today. Elise and I went on his field trip with him. We went to Wagner Farms in Corrales. It was fun – and now we have a ton of pumpkins! After the pumpkin patch and this, we’ll be filling up the freezer with pumpkin mix! Anyway – I’ll show you the pictures. It was all good fun!!!
In all good fun, for Halloween, I’ve found this image in the recesses of my hard drive. Somebody actually sent this to me a long time ago for Halloween. Watch it closely, it takes awhile, but if your diligent, you’ll see a ghost come out of the doorway! Now watch! VERY CLOSELY!!
I can’t, and don’t have enough time to figure out how to make my own photo album in movable type through my own site. So I am using Google’s photo storage place because its the easiest place to upload photos to – where I can embed the albums slideshow to my website – check out the first one below. I’ll use this until I can figure out how to make my own on my site, or until Google kicks me off from using up all their space. I’ll be adding tons of pictures since I’ve been slacking in sharing!
And since Picasa (Google’s image viewer) is so easy to use and upload pictures with, don’t be surprised if I bombard my public with a ton of pictures!!
This was right before I got everyone lost by misreading the map…. See, not too tired yet! Robin helped us find our way, we put our heads together and figured out how to get out, only after we dashed through the corn to get to the middle! LOL!
I’ll add the rest of my pumpkin patch pictures to the site when I get the photo album up and running – I’ll give you guys a disk of the pics we took – as long as you give me a disk of the ones you took!

I’m just taking a break from yet another research paper. The first one, which I turned in last week, was for my psychology class on Alcoholism. I did my paper on the use of the drug Naltrexone for treatment of people who are diagnosed alcohol dependent. Was about 15 pages, and now, I just about know everything you ever wanted to know on how effective the drug is, and how its used. I’m waiting for the results of the paper. Wish me luck!
Tonight, I’m starting a new research paper for another of my psych classes, Research Techniques this time. This paper is on the use of a special diet on reducing symptoms of autism and autism spectrum disorders. The reason I picked this topic (as if most of you don’t already know) is because the school system has been on a track to diagnosing Aiden with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Thusly, using this class, I will try to equip myself in helping him, and making sure he has all the advantages of any other child. I thought it would be hard to find articles to help my paper, but fortunately for me, I just found around 10 journal articles on exactly what I needed. Thank my lucky stars!
On another note, I have a test in my other psych class, Brain and Behavior, on Thursday. The test is on everything you ever wanted to know about neurons and synapses! Really fun stuff…while I’m on the topic of this class, I’ll have to write to you all about my experience in visiting the OMI. OMI=Office of the Medical Investigator. I got to see what my teacher so lovingly calls, brain cutting. I’ll tell you all about it in another entry..later. I want to go play with my new site – try to add more to the sidebars, pep it up – oh, and I’m working on installing a really cool photo album for rain-cloud, so I can share all my photos with you all much easier!
Where do I find the time?
I’m always tired!!!
As of today, I have reached 10,000 hits. For someone who hardly ever updates, who has very few friends (1 or 2) outside of family (of which a quarter of them don’t even talk to me), that’s pretty good! WHAT A MILESTONE!!!!
Yip Yip Yippy!!! Hooray!! Celebration time……..
It’s very strange that I happened to hit that just as I was resurrecting my site! Now that’s a welcome back happy present for me!!!! ^_^
Now I have to update often! Otherwise I just don’t deserve that!
This one is in the middle of the corn maze, after we’d wandered around getting lost, we finally just dashed through the corn until we found the center!
I know – we cheated…but you would have too!
